1. Daviess County Courthouse
Hand-wound since 1908. The day the weights crashed through two floors, some were sure it was a bomb.
2. 1869 James Gang Robbery
Jesse James gunned down a cashier he'd mistaken for an old enemy — the killing that launched the legend.
3. The Frank James Trial
In 1883 a Gallatin jury held Frank James's life in their hands. What they decided shocked the nation.
8. The 1922 Bank Robbery
The most successful bank robbers in American history cut the wires, blew this vault, and shot their way out.
